Marketing/PR Committee

The MPR serves as the public face of the planning committee. The MPR Committee has the responsibility of crafting literature content including the GDHS’s theme, vision, mission statement, etc. Also, the MPR controls GDHS’s responses to all media enquiries. The MPRC also manages the country steering committees around the globe for the purpose of disseminating the core mission of the 2019 GHANA DIASPORA CELEBRATION & HOMECOMING SUMMIT and coordinating their physical or virtual participation in collaboration with the appropriate sister subcommittee.

IT/New Media

IT/New Media Committee

The IT/NM Committee is responsible for the technical delivery of our message via electronic and social media. The IT/NM team develops and operates a comprehensive and interactive website as well as dominate the social media landscape in Ghana and the diaspora community with our message and information about the 2019 GHANA DIASPORA CELEBRATION & HOMECOMING SUMMIT.

Finance Committee

Everything ‘money’ shall pass through the Finance Committee which is charged with developing the GDHS sponsorship packages to be sent to corporate and other government agencies as well as individuals to attract funding for the event. The Finance Committee has also designed incentive packages for committee members who have relationships that can be leveraged for fund raising. This committee is chiefly responsible for raising the entire budget for the celebration and shall fulfill audit functions to our bank account.

The secretariat is the engine of the entire Planning Committee. The secretariat opens and maintains all bank accounts and serves as the custodian of all GDHS records and documents. The Secretariat organizes and facilitates all central committee meetings, send notices of such meetings, and reports on those meetings. All official communications shall emanate from the secretariat.

Programming Committee

This committee develops all programs associated with the celebrations. This year, they will design programs for the celebration along various themes such as past, current, and potential diaspora contributors to nation building. The Programming committee shall be particularly attentive to the various specialty areas where the Ghanaian Diaspora has focused interest such as import duties, land acquisition issues, and business registry to name a few. Therefore, the programming committee shall work in close collaboration with those responsible entities to develop details of all programs.

Events/Logistics Committee

This committee is responsible for all event details and day to day management of events including the invitation list, special guests list, accreditation, catering (food, water, alcohol etc.), equipment for entertainment, (i.e. decorations, music, transportation and delivery of goods, security, paramedics, vendors, lightings, setups etc.). The committee is also tasked with making logistical arrangements for all attendees particularly those from abroad.
